Performance Analysis in Soccer: How does Technology Challenge Current Practices? - 3rd Edition
 - PerSoccer 2015

15 - 17 November, 2015 - Lisbon, Portugal

Within the International Congress on Sport Sciences Research and Technology Support - icSPORTS 2015

CHAIR

Ricardo Duarte

Brief Bio
Ricardo is Lecturer of Training Methods of Soccer at Faculdade de Motricidade Humana, Lisbon-Portugal. He were involved in soccer at various levels of coaching and technical coordination, with experiences in youth national championships and semi-professional soccer. Today, his academic career involves developing applied research on training and tactical performance analysis, mentoring young football coaches and presenting his perspective in soccer training courses, congresses and seminars.

SCOPE

In the last decade there was a wealth of technological developments that imposed remarkable changes in performance analysis research and practice. The advent of such technologies radically challenged the practices of scientists and practitioners involved in professional soccer. Current challenges on this topic include i) how to maximize the technological potential into meaningful and effective information, ii) how can new technologies enhance the way we analyze and interpret data, and iii) how can we use technology to enhance player and team objective evaluations.

Previous editions of this symposium had the honorable presence of prominent researchers and practitioners as guest speakers, including Christopher Carling, Bruno Mendes, Bruno Travassos, Paul Power and Hector Ruiz. The 3rd Edition of this Symposium will join again both researchers and practitioners from professional soccer showing how technology and science is being integrated and is changing the current practices in performance analysis field.

We invite submissions from all over the world covering wide-range topics on performance analysis in soccer, especially related (but not limited to) to the current challenges that technology is placing to science and applied performance analysis in soccer.
