Brief Bio
He received his PhD in Physical Therapy and Motor Rehabilitation in 1989 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE) were he was a research associate at the Department of Anatomy. Was awarded an associate professorship, Sports Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE) in 1992. Was invited professor at the Technical University Lisbon, Faculty of Human Movement (PT) from 1996 to 2009 after which he was appointed a Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Performance, The Norwegian University of Sport and Physical Education (NO). His research interest in applie (sports) biomechanics and kinesiological electromyography. He is a member of the Scientific Board of the European College of Sports Sciences and of the World Commission of Sport Science, Science and Football Steering Group. Brief Bio
Joao Paulo Vilas Boas is the Full Professor of Biomechanics at Porto University, Sport Faculty and serves as Vice-President of the Faculty Scientific Board. Vilas-Boas serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Tomorrow Options - Microelectronics, S.A. He is also a member of the Steering Group 'Biomechanics and the World Commission of Sports Biomechanics', and Vice-President of the Portuguese Swimming Federation and a former Olympic swimming coach. His research interests are in Biomechanics and Sports Medicine, namely swimming.

Brief Bio
Pedro Pezarat-Correia, born in 1958, obtained his PhD degree in Human Kinetics (Universidade Técnica de Lisboa – Portugal) in 1995. Currently is Associated Professor of the Universidade de Lisboa where he is the coordinator of the Laboratory of Motor Behavior and teaches the disciplines of Anatomy & Physiology, Kinesiology and Neuromuscular Function. He is the (co-) author of about 40 peer reviewed international publications. Research topics: electromyography, neuromuscular function, muscle coordination.
